The Clutter Bug has multiplied

I never thought I would want to share my life on a blog, but here I go diving right in!

My family and I have recently moved into a bigger house. I find myself surrounded by boxes, boxes, and more boxes. Many of the boxes contain items that I have not seen since I packed them up from my house before DH and I got married (3 short years ago). Even though it seems like Christmas, finding items long forgotten, it brings on a certain amount of stress wondering what to do with everything. DH and I have agreed that we must pare down our belongings, we simply have too much stuff. Now the hard part - deciding what goes. Then what to do with it?

I've done fairly well so far getting rid of things. If an item doesn't bring joy when I see it - it has to go. If it only gets used once every few years - gone. Haven't worn it in forever - gone. What to do with all these things? We've had a few garage sales, made enough money to cover a week in Branson. Yeah! We've donated to the Salvation Army, and to the church food closet (they take items besides food). And yes, we did trash some things, but we did recycle them if they could be recycled in our town.

I am trying to stick to at least one box a day to go through, purge what needs purging, and find a home for what is staying. Baby steps, people, baby steps! I can do anything one baby step at a time!
